Plain English up front, fine print below. We collect the bare minimum we need to run Kinventory, store it carefully, and let you export or delete it any time.
This Privacy Policy explains how Kin Café LLC ("Kinventory," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use inventory.kin.cafe, app.kin.cafe, our iOS app, and the Raspberry Pi scanner firmware — collectively, the "Service."
By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you don't, please don't use the Service.
Account information you give us: name, email, organization name, location addresses, and an avatar if you upload one. We use Firebase Authentication, so password data is stored by Google, not by us.
Inventory data you create: every inventory item, recipe, vendor, employee, receipt image, and stock-level adjustment. This is your data — we hold it on your behalf.
Square data we import on your behalf: catalog items, locations, variations, and sales events as they occur. We never see card data.
Usage data, automatically: pages visited, features used, error logs, device type. We use this to fix bugs and improve the product.
To provide and improve the Service. That's it. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
We may use aggregated, de-identified data to share things like "the average café tracks 287 SKUs" — never tied to a specific shop.
Square: when you install Kinventory from the Marketplace, Square shares your menu and sales with us under your authorization. We share billing metadata back to Square for invoicing.
Service providers, narrow scope: Google Cloud (hosting), Firebase (auth), Stripe (billing edge cases), and Google's Gemini (receipt OCR; receipt images are processed and discarded after 24 hours).
Legal requests: only with a valid subpoena, court order, or comparable legal process. We will notify you unless legally prohibited.
Access, correct, or delete any information about you at any time, in-app or by emailing privacy@kin.cafe.
Export all your data as a ZIP of CSV files from Settings → Billing → Export Data.
Delete your account: emails us at hello@kin.cafe. We remove data within 30 days of confirmation, except where law requires retention.
The Service is not directed to anyone under 16. Don't use the Service if you're under 16.
We'll update this page when we make material changes, and notify you by email at least 14 days before the new version takes effect.
